Mahdi Boomeribuilds productsend to end.

Senior Front-End Engineer, frontend-first — systems that hold up at scale, from the API contract and audit log to the last frame of a 60fps animation.

01 / About

Frontend by trade, full-stack by necessity — I own features from schema to pixel, and from architecture to cloud deployment, when the problem calls for it.

Six years owning complex, scalable web applications end to end. As the sole engineer responsible for every technical decision on a clinically validated biometric assessment platform, I shipped for Warner Bros., UK universities, NHS-affiliated organisations and the UK Government — with the platform’s findings actively feeding neurodivergent research at the University of Liverpool.

I chase leverage over trends: the abstraction, the migration strategy, the query plan that lets a small team ship like a large one. That’s meant raising a Lighthouse score from 75 to 100, cutting MSSQL query latency by 35%, and running zero-downtime blue-green migrations behind nginx while a live product kept serving traffic.

When a feature needs it, I design the API and data model myself rather than wait on a hand-off — service boundaries, schema and query shape are frontend performance decisions too. I’m also an active Nuxt 3 contributor, with fixes upstreamed into Nuxt and Nitro that ship to every framework user globally.

Clinical Biometric Assessment Platform

Problem — A clinically validated biometric assessment platform had to serve Warner Bros., UK universities, NHS-affiliated organisations and the UK Government from one multi-tenant system — with a single engineer owning every technical decision from architecture to cloud deployment.

Approach — Engineered a browser-based biometric capture pipeline — WebGazer gaze tracking, scroll-velocity profiling, click-timing and dwell analysis, frame-rate normalisation — with persistent session state across multi-step forms, plus an AI report pipeline using multi-step prompt chaining, strict JSON schema enforcement and streaming output.

Day Out With The Kids — Venue Platform

Problem — A UK platform serving millions of families across 8,500+ attractions ran on a legacy ASP.NET monolith with mounting technical debt and no meaningful test coverage — and needed a lead engineer to take it over post-deployment.

Approach — Owned full-stack development across frontend and backend (Node.js / Hapi.js): audited technical debt, established a comprehensive test suite, refactored the component architecture, and launched a complete redesign with guided onboarding, analytics dashboards and a role-based access control system.

Rewhys — Canadian Immigration Platform

Problem — A Vue 3 single-page app for immigration eligibility janked on tables of 5,000–50,000 rows and scored 75 on Lighthouse — it needed a full re-architecture with zero tolerance for downtime on a live product.

Approach — Ran a Nuxt SSR app in parallel with the SPA behind nginx, shifting traffic route-by-route with the SPA as an automatic fallback (blue-green). Replaced full-DOM synchronous renders with virtual list windowing, and lifted Lighthouse to 100 via lazy hydration, a rebuilt media pipeline, deferred image loading and reserved layout space.

Nuxt 3 & Nitro — Open-Source Core

Problem — Real-world Nuxt patterns — optimistic updates, type-safe server routes, Vercel deployment — deserved first-class support in the framework core rather than userland workarounds copied between projects.

Approach — Authored and merged the useNuxtData composable enabling optimistic-update patterns in Vue components; aligned Nitro’s server API output types with JSON serialisation boundaries to kill a class of type errors; and added native Vercel configuration support to the Nuxt server engine, unlocking Vercel image optimisation in the Nuxt image module.

03 / Capabilities

  • 01

    Architecture & Systems

Owning every technical decision on multi-tenant platforms — rendering strategy, state architecture, service boundaries and cloud deployment, chosen for the problem, not the trend cycle.

  • 02

    Performance Engineering

Lighthouse 75→100, 35% faster MSSQL queries, virtual list windowing for 50k-row tables. Core Web Vitals as a floor, not a ceiling.

  • 03

    Framework & Open Source

React, Next.js, Vue and Nuxt in production — with merged contributions shipped into Nuxt 3 and Nitro core, reaching every framework user globally.

  • 04

    Backend & Data

Node.js / Hapi.js services, MSSQL query-plan analysis and index strategy, and tRPC / REST / GraphQL contracts shared cleanly across web and native clients.

  • 05

    AI & Clinical Systems

Multi-step prompt chaining, strict JSON schema enforcement, streaming output and per-report audit logging — built to clear NHS and government procurement.

  • 06

    DevOps & Delivery

Zero-downtime blue-green migrations behind nginx, Docker / Compose / PM2 pipelines, and Turborepo monorepos with shared TypeScript contracts.
